Umbwe in 6 days
The Umbwe Route is steeper and shorter than the Machame Route. Once at the Barranco Hut you continue on with the other Machame hikers. The descent is down the Mweka trail.
Shira Route in 6 days
Very similar to Lemosho route, however it starts at 3,600 meters and is therefore not ideal for trekkers who have little or no experience of high altitude trekking.

It was an absolutely amazing experience. Phabian organized a great trip from beginning to end. We arrived Kilimanjaro airport very early in the morning and he had a car waiting for us. We crashed at a hotel in Arusha, slept late and relaxed for the day. Be prepared for spotty WiFi and the potential for power outages. The government is rationing electricity, at least while we were there. The hotel had a back generator, which was great but can take a few minutes to switch over. The next day we started our safari meeting Robert in the morning in one of their range rovers. Robert is the Best!! He is very knowledgeable about most things you can think of to ask him. He’s very patient and accommodating. One example, we wanted to check out Tanzanite jewelry and he took us to various types of shops and stores over the trip so we could get a sense of prices and quality before buying anything. Our first stop was lake Manyara. Dense jungle with tons of wild life, elephants so close you could almost touch them. We got to see a baby elephant maybe a week old at most. We saw baboons, monkeys, giraffe, antelope, zebras, tons of birds. We then headed to Serengeti where we spent 2 nights in Osero campground. Big thick walled Tents, with private bathrooms. The main tent is set up with a bar and restaurant. The staff there was great and the food was really good. It’s not a boma, so if you want to be outside of your tent at night you need to escorted by the staff who run security to make sure it is safe from wildlife. 2 and half days exploring the Serengeti. Lions! Lucky to catch a pair during their mating period. They were a modest pair who went behind a big rock for the action. We also saw a lot of hippos, more elephants, giraffes, etc. and lucky to catch a couple leopards. They were off in the distance so glad Robert had his binoculars to get good views of the hanging out in the trees. We had iPhone 13 Pro phones which got amazing pictures up close, but the distance not so much. Recommend bringing telescopic lenses, and test them long before your trip so you know they will do what you want. Or a good camera with telescopic lenses, of course would be a good option. We then headed to Ngorongoro and stayed in 3 nights in a hotel in the area. One day was spent in the Ngorongoro crater where we finished off the Big 5 with rhinos. We also got very lucky to see a cheetah sunbathing on a rock, apparently very rare. While staying at the hotel, Phabian and Robert arranged a Birthday surprise for my wife’s 50th, where the staff and Robert sang happy birthday in the local way by dancing and bringing a cake to the table. The hotel was great. Pool, bar restaurant. WiFi available by the pool and in the main building. On our way out of town the last day we stopped at a Masai boma and were welcomed in to learn about their culture and participate in their welcome traditional dance and were dressed for the occasion. Was a lot of fun. We wrapped it up for the last night back in The same hotel in Arusha where we got to meet Phabian’s wonderful family. Over all one of the best experiences we’ve had, which was made possible by the Royal Team. Robert is very skilled at finding wild life and has a sixth sense for when you want to stay in one spot and watch or when you’re ready to move on and an amazing ability to position the vehicle for the best views. I would highly recommend this group over some of the bigger companies as they really treat you like family and make sure you have everything you need. We plan on doing it again to see gorillas and will definitely be booking with Royal.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.Basak Hendry2023-07-03We had the best time with Phabian and the team. Our guide, Vicent was excellent. He is friendly, knowledgeable and experienced--his services are highly recommended. Accommodations were very comfortable and well-located with beautiful views of landscape and wildlife. The meals at each lodge, including daily lunch, were presented with care and tasted good. There were always vegetarian options available, and food allergies were carefully noted. Between all three parks we saw the Big 5. Overall, we would highly recommend booking your trip through Royal Climb and Safaris.VerifiedKissi052023-03-27Always happy to come back Fabian and Alais were two wonderful travel companions who made our time in Tanzania a once in a lifetime experience. Contact with Fabian was very pleasant in advance and he provided great support with tour planning. Alais enriched every game drive with his enormous knowledge of animals, plants, culture and history. Both were very flexible and thus also fulfilled subsequent special requests. Even when we flew on to Zanzibar, Fabian was still managing our tours there from afar. Whenever we come back, our travel companion is fixed!VerifiedGuillaume Elmarinos2023-02-28🏔️🌄Beautiful Hike & Lovely Safari 🐘🦒🦁 A great experience, a very serious provider, quality people doing everything possible to satisfy you in the smallest details. We were two, we chose RCS to climb Kilimanjaro in 6 days and at the end of our ascent, we completed our trip in Tanzania with 2 days of tailor made Safari in Tarangire and Ngorongoro park.
